There’s a door-to-door salesman that comes through my neighborhood. He’s not peddling insurance, vacuums, or religion. He sells the most delicious homemade tamales. The vegetarian ones are special order so he brings them to my door fresh, hot, and ready for me to shove like 3 in my mouth.
Today he came by to drop off my order and he saw the road rash from my bike wreck on my elbow. He ran to his car and brought back a spray bottle of “beauty water”. He sprayed my elbow and knee and said it will fix me right up. So, we’ll see how that goes. He might just have the fountain of youth on his hands.
So as I eat tamales and listen to My Brother, My Brother, & Me, I’m going to share some recent t-store scores.

I got this vintage ottoman in hopes of it being the coolest cat bed ever. Maybe it’s the location, but they don’t use it for more than “hiding” under to attack each other.

Owl coasters:

A shin length, straw skirt that I don’t know what I’m going to do with, but couldn’t pass up for $3 :)

And I recently found this credenza on Craig’s List, it’s part of the craft room makeover that’s about to take place over here.

What are some of your favorite recent finds?

I’m stuck writing in my office all day, living off of raw almonds and vending machine garbage, so the idea of fresh veg tamales delivered to my door sounds like heaven.
I love how angry those owl coasters look. I would be too intimidated to put down my drink.
ha! They do look pretty intimidating :) P.S. I do love raw almonds…
I love seeing these posts! You definitely inspire me to show off my hauls too! I can’t decide what I love more: the credenza or the ottoman, and your pictures are just gorgeous! Looking forward to seeing more!
Wow I love the color of that ottoman. It’s so pretty!
WHATTTT those are all such GREAT scores!! Wowza…also wear the skirt…why not? Throw some bike shorts under and you’re good to go!
Um, I LOVE that credenza! It’s amazing! I want to find a cabinet in that shape and style for our records. No luck yet! :) Also loving your new ottoman and the suitcase — it will be perfect for when you come to Minneapolis! (Hint, hint — wink, wink!)
They are hard to find! I finally resorted to spending a little more on CL because I couldn’t find one thrifting. I’m packing up my little suitcase right now :)
Ok my mouth is officially watering. Those homemade tamales sound way beyond delicious right now. What a sweet little story too – I’d love to know what was in that beauty water:)
All your finds are perfect. I especially adore that credenza. It reminds of one my grandparents had. My favorite find as of late was this coral and ivory maxi dress from the 70s. Now if only I were tall enough to wear it:)
I’m kicking myself for not asking what was in the beauty water! :) I feel like I’m not tall enough for maxi dresses too, boo.
so wait… a door-to-door tamale salesman? sounds like the best door-to-door sales scheme ever.
that straw skirt is interesting for sure… maybe you could cut the pockets off and make wallets or something? and i LOVE that butterfly wall art. xo
Good idea! It may be best suited for a craft project, I might wear it for some sort of costume first, though…
Awesome finds! I love those floral suitcases and that butterfly embroidery is super pretty. Is that an old thermostat? Too cool. That ottoman is awesome. If the cats don’t like it, oh well. At least it won’t be covered in cat hairs :p
It is an old thermostat! I love it except for it reminding me that it’s officially Arizona summertime! Good point re: the cat hair on the ottoman :)
OMG Beauty Water?? Weird! I hope it helps! :) I just LOVE that cradenza. It’s so perfect! I’ve been looking for something like that for my house. Nice score!
xx Adrian
What an amazing piece of furniture!!! I’ve never used Craig’s List. Did you have it shipped or did you pick it up?
I also love the ottoman! Kitties are so funny, they always do whatever the heck they want, hehe. When I first adopted Dimitri, I bought him a bed, toys, etc … He never used any of them, haha.
Oh, I also love the blue suitcase! :p
You can find some good stuff on there! We always pick stuff up but some people might deliver…
Wow, those are all pretty amazing finds! I need to get a little of your thrifting luck. My favorite is that owl clock. It is the cutest!
I think the secret is to go often and really dig :)
You have so many amazing vintage finds!! Actual, non-clothes goods are def what I’m lacking in my thrifting. Love that skirt too, I think I’d be super cute, you look great w/ mid-length skirts. oh & since i’m so behind, your logo looks fantastic up on your blog, awesome job w/ the writing, colors & tying in the buttons on the side w/ it all too!
