Los Angeles Instagram Photos

Sometimes sorting through vacation photos for the blog can be so daunting I find myself just trying to hide from my computer and the internet for days. But I always regret when I don’t post about a vacation- the best part of blogging is being able to look back the highlights over the years. So instead of putting it off until it’s a distant memory, I decided to summarize our week in LA with my phone pics, that you may have seen if you follow me on Instagram.

1// We spent New Year’s Day driving up PCH a little north of Malibu, stopping at a few beaches there and back. I swear, all years should start at the beach, it’s so refreshing.

2// One day we did the monster 6.4 mile hike up behind the Hollywood sign- something I remembered doing years ago with my college roommate that grew up in that area. It’s a view you totally have to earn by not driving (although there are shorter hikes up there), which means there aren’t a ton of people- making it even more awesome.

3 & 4// Brian had a photo shoot with a rad couple and their dog Harpo that own a fleet of old cars and live in this hillside Victorian house. We spent a memorable day with them, hearing lots of stories and looking at cool stuff :)

5 & 6// We stopped at a couple of roadside attractions- the Cabazon Dinosaurs on the way there, and The Donut Hole on the way home.

+ Spending New Year’s Eve with friends in Santa Monica.

+ Eating amazing vegan food and seeing comedy with a friend we met on our trip to Joshua Tree.

+ A freezing morning at the Griffith Observatory.

+ Dinner with Brian’s aunt & uncle in Pasadena, and seeing people lining the streets for the Rose Bowl parade THE DAY BEFORE, which blew my mind.

+ Seeing 3 shows at UCB- especially the Wild Horses show. These ladies are some of my favorite improvers on podcasts and it was so awesome to see them do improv live!

+ Walking around Silver Lake, eating tons of good food, and drinking lots of great coffee and cocktails.

Well, that’s our trip in a nutshell :)

What a fun looking trip (oh, that photo of the OH of the sign is fantastic. You should seriously get a large print and frame it!)

Sounds like you had so much fun! Did you get to meet up with any of the FT ladies?

Girl, I feel you. I went to Harry Potter world in September and I *still* havent posted them. My friend that I went with has been hounding me for months to see them and Im just like “…relive it in your memories.” hahaha. But you take SUCH awesome photos, so I’d be bummed if you didn’t share them. I especially love the one of the hollywood sign- such a cool angle.
