Hello and Happy New Year, Internet!
This year we continued our tradition of leaving town on New Year’s Eve by heading south a few hours to Bisbee, AZ. It’s a small town nestled into the mountains, just a few miles from the Mexico border. It used to be a bustling city during the boom of copper mining and was once the largest city between St. Louis and San Francisco. Now it’s a quieter community with the vibe of a European village. It’s home to a lot of artists and you can spend hours just wandering the hills looking at unique houses.
Bisbee has a much milder climate than Phoenix and is used to an occasional dusting of snow in the winter. However, the roughly 6 inches we were there for is unusual and we were so lucky to experience this. It started snowing the first evening we were there and didn’t stop through the night. It was so beautiful and all the desert rats in town were getting a kick out of playing in it.
Gotta Instagram this… :)
I’m so happy I got to have snow-filled holidays this year! Of course, it makes it even better to know that the rest of the year will be sunny! ;)
Usually I like to make a list of a few goals for the year of crafts I want to work on, places to travel, stuff like that. Since I’m finishing school in May and I’ll be trying to figure out what to do after that, I figured that is a big enough plan for this year. The rest can be figured out along the way…This entry was posted in travel and tagged Arizona, new year's eve, pictures, road trip, travel. ← heading to a wedding… these boots are made for walking… →
