jungle cat…

First off I would like to thank all of you for your super sweet comments on my re-design! You are the best!

Saturday we got a group of friends together for the San Tan Wheelie Jam, which was a bike festival thrown by a local brewery. It was our first time going to this one, but every year we go to the Tour de Fat. Basically a day of drinking good beer, riding bikes around, and hanging out with friends.

I thrifted this jungle cat skirt a while back and it was an awkward shin-length. I toyed with the idea of wearing it like that, but just couldn’t get comfortable in it. I hemmed it to knee length and it’s quickly becoming a favorite.

The cropped, denim top is from American Eagle, which I haven’t been to in YEARS. I never would’ve picked it out, but I saw Jen wearing it in an outfit post once and thought it would be really cute with high-waisted skirts. I looked for it online last month, and they happened to be having free shipping that weekend too, so I decided to go for it.

We ended the day back at our place for a BBQ, swimming, and games in the yard. Such a perfect day with some good friends! A few of these people are moving away in the next couple weeks and I just kept taking moments during the day to soak in the time I was getting to spend with them.

This weekend I will be saying a lot of goodbyes and trying to remember that I’m excited for their new adventures and new places to visit…

Bikes and beer?! Now this is something I could be totally down with:) Sounds like a beautiful day and a perfect way to get in some hang time before goodbyes are said. Loving how your outfit is complete summer perfection from the skirt to the minnetonkas and hair scarf. Goodness, I wish our weather would warm up!

Loving the new redesign as well:) I just designed side bar tabs for my blog that look so similar to yours. (I have yet to put them up though). I guess great minds think alike…hehe.

Hi, Lisa! What an awesome new virtual home you have!!! ;D Love it! I feel like I haven’t been here in ages :/. My computer is taking a poop and we’re in the process of restoring it; I have hope in that it’ll go back to normal!

But anyhow, seriously, love the new layout ;). And your red skirt! I wish I knew how sew hems. I had to sew the hem of some pants and one leg is longer than the other now, haha.

Oh, and I totally know how hard it can be to say goodbye to beloved friends. But if they’re true friends, they’ll keep in touch with you regardless of the distance ;).

Hope you have a great weekend!!! ;D

    Miki.
