What to Wear- Christmas Dinner

what to wear

Hello! Is everyone still in a post-holiday food coma? Did you have to get back to work today? This week for What to Wear, we are showing you what we would wear for Christmas dinner.

This outfit is a little bit cheating since my family keeps it pretty casual for holidays, but I did wear this to a holiday party last week so I think that counts as a Christmas dinner. It’s funny because when I was growing up our family always dressed up for holidays and I probably hated it back then, but since growing up I have thought it would be fun to have fancy Christmas cocktail parties.

What to Wear Christmas dinner

dress: Buffalo Exchange
sweater: estate sale
tights: ebay
shoes: Ruche
necklace: in my shop

I scored this sweater at an estate sale for $1 and it’s one of my favorites. When I found it, it even had a yellowed Goodwill price tag stapled on it from the 70s or 80s, so someone had thrifted it and never wore it. I splurged on these shoes a couple years ago and I wear them all the time. In fact, you are probably sick of seeing them on here :) They are a good reminder that sometimes a solid item is worth spending more than you usually would.

Such a cute and unexpected color combination.

I’ve learned to always dress nice on Christmas since there will be photos (a family of photographers…) but we didn’t as kids. I bet you were so cute all dressed up as a kiddo!

Gah you seriously make THE most amazing outfits!! And I literally have to force my family to be fancy during the holidays- but I think it’s starting to rub off on them seeing how my little brothers are starting to buy bow ties on their own haha!

Yes, I always admire those shoes when you wear them. The color and t-strap design are too cute not to love! Sometimes my favorite pieces are ones that I thrifted for a dollar or so. This cardigan is as darling as can be and I love the color of your dress! I always dream of having fun holiday parties as well, but alas we are boring and have holiday parties with our cats? haha oh well!
