Walking Around Silver Lake

Silver Lake Outfit & Swedish Hasbeens

Happy new year! 2015 has been off to a good start, although I am having a really hard time getting back on track after 12 days off! Making the to-do and goal lists was the easy part, now to get my butt in gear…

We spent last week in LA, and stayed at a cute apartment we found on Airbnb in Silver Lake. I took these outfit photos there, as it was on a quiet side street with tons of trees and plants. The weather was cold for those of us with southwest blood, but the last day warmed up enough for me to be jacket-less for the photos. It was fun to have a chance to wear coats, and it was sunny all but one day so we were still able to walk around a lot.

I’ve had such good luck with Airbnb, and it’s nice to be able to have a whole apartment when visiting a place for more than a couple of days. I really love hotels, but they can get cramped super fast. Plus it’s fun to feel like you live in a new place while you’re there, and you can actually save money- our place was less than $100/night, which is pretty hard to find with a hotel in a great location, especially over holidays.

I’ll be back with some more photos from the trip- I have to ease back into my routine slowly ;)

This is not a sponsored post, but I did use an affiliate link that gets you $25 off your reservation, so it’s a win-win! ;)

It looks like Airbnb is the way to go. I’ve never done it but staying anywhere in California is so expensive I should definitely try it.

I’ve lived in LA over a year now and have only recently started exploring Silver Lake. So fun! Hope you had a good time!

Those are fun tights- and as always, you have impeccable tastes in hats!

Glad to hear you had fun!

  6. Love this look Lisa! My fam uses HomeAway a lot, but Airbnb always has the coolest pictures and rentals (I kind of want to work for them!) Totally feel ya on hard to get back into the swing of things, I’m only home for a week and have accomplished NOTHING!

Giiirrrrl, you look so cute! You always do though…. I’m loving this top! I need to invest in some swedish hasbeens but may opt for the cheaper sven clogs instead. Looks like you’re having some good ol’ fashion fun.

Keep your eye out for super sales! I’ve gotten mine all for less than $80- no way I’m spending over $200 on shoes :)

I’ve never heard of Airbnb – but sounds like a great thing. Hotels are cramp. Especially having two little kids…oy vey.

I didn’t even realize til I saw this whole post, but I just got the exact same tights! Dreamy, aren’t they? And the hat really tops everything off. You are always a wiz at combining unexpected pieces. :)
