thrifted florals…

Target hi low dress

Thursday was a What to Wear post day and I totally dropped the ball. We were supposed to show off what we would wear to a music festival, but by the time I had a chance to take photos it was too dark. Well, let me just tell you, I have failed at dressing for most music festivals I’ve been to.

There was the time we went to Coachella and I was way too hot during the day and freezing at night. Then there was the time we went to New Orleans for Jazz Fest with some of my friends who go every year. No one told me that it generally pours in the afternoon and I swear I was the only girl that didn’t know I should be wearing a cute dress with rain boots. All I could think about were my rain boots sitting back in Arizona, perpetually neglected.

My plan for What to Wear to a music festival was to incorporate this thrifted floral dress with some more comfortable shoes. I guess since it was on my mind, I wore it to work yesterday instead.

dress: thrifted
boots: Dolce Vita (via Marshalls)
jewelry: gifts, thrifted, Moorea Seal, F21

I’m actually not the biggest fan of music festivals, but I love going to shows. We are off to see Kurt Vile tonight. Have you been to any good shows or music festivals lately?

Super cute outfit! it would have been perfect for a festival.
Everyone seemed to miss What to Wear this week lol.

  2. That dress is gorgeous! I have those same boots too! Except mine are from Target haha but I love how you have the socks peeking through :)

This dress is so pretty! I’m so glad you wore this to work too, since this outfit definitely needed to be worn right away. And sigh…those booties. Perfection in shoe form.

This dress is adorable and totally perfect for a festival. I think dressing for anything like that is hard because of weather. I went to Red Rocks in CO on a 110 degree day and I was dressed accordingly…and it rained like crazy for half the show. I was freezing, soaking wet and pretty uncomfortable. So, yeah, weather ruins big outdoor things for me.

I saw some cool bands last weekend, but I feel like August is when shows slow down? I have a lot coming up in September/October. Like Tim Kasher, Okkervil River, and Kevin Devine. Woo! Concerts, always.

Oh and I want your boots.

Ok- glad I’m not alone here, that is exactly what happened to me in New Orleans :) You have so many great shows coming up!

I find music festivals hard to dress for because I want to look cute but also wear something thats functional. I went to FYF Fest yesterday and your look is close to what I wore – floral dress and boots. I even had similar earrings to yours haha. I’d say you should wear this if you got to a festival anytime soon.

You should totally join in the what to wear posts! It’s a fun way to think about different outfits and it keeps me on schedule :)

Those boots are adorable! I love Marshall’s. 80% of the time I go there, I have all the luck and find so many things to bring home. The last two times I’ve walked away empty handed. Maybe I’m just ready for fall and to see all those sweaters come in.
