vintage hat shoes

I wore this outfit on Sunday for a movie date when Brian & I went to see Wanderlust. If you haven’t seen it yet, I recommend it- super funny and I could totally relate to Paul Rudd’s character’s confession of dealing with confrontation with sarcasm. I can’t deal with it any other way, it’s just so awkward, right?? It’s written & directed by David Wain, who also blessed this world with Wet Hot American Summer & Role Models.

I barely EVER see a movie in the theater, it takes more than that to get me to leave the house on one of the 2 nights/week I don’t have class or work.

So, instead of editing the scrape on my ankle out of this photo, I will tell you about what a scaredy cat I am in real life. Last weekend we were camping and I had to go the bathroom in the middle of the night (definitely the worst part of camping!). While scouring for a spot, I thought I saw a flashlight coming towards me, got scared, ran back to the tent, dove in and got tangled in the doorway- cutting my foot.

My name is Lisa and I’m scared of strangers.

citrus blossoms

Well, the citrus is gone for the year and those white flowers are the citrus blossoms that will be next winter’s oranges. Their scent is the most delicious thing I have ever smelled.

Okay, today I am a clearly a little scatterbrained as this post is all over the map.
Thanks for sticking with me :)

i really wanted to see wanderlust! it looks hilarious! i’ll probably have to wait until it comes out on dvd because it seems to be playing nowhere near orlando.

i just love your necklace and hat! that’s awesome that it’s your great grandmother’s.

and i never edit out scrapes or bruises either – i just let it be. i have bruises in most of my wedding photos – but that’s who i am.

Yes make sure you see it on DVD! We had to drive to another town to catch it, all the good movies leave the theater fast :) Cuts and bruises kind of make me feel a little more adventurous than I really am so “let it be” is a good motto!

  2. What an amazing dress from your great grandmother! Where did you go camping?? I love going camping! We’re planning a trip for sometime in May and I’m super excited. We usually go up north though, so it’s too cold to go there now.

We went to the Salton Sea in Cali and that place is SO surreal/crazy. I want to do a post this week but lots of pics to edit :) I need to camp more and up north sounds like the perfect summer getaway!

I am putting that movie on my “to see” list. And I love that necklace. :) I am still unsure about the coral shoes, girl. $35 is a lot of money in my cheap world…Did you get your Blowfish shoes?

I hear ya, that’s exactly how I feel about the BF shoes! $60 and big ol’ wedges that I can’t exactly wear everyday. Decisions, decisions… :)

I would have done the exact same thing, except the scrape would have also been accompanied by a massive bruise because I’m really good at bruising!

Also, this outfit is adorable and your hair looks great! Love those shoes.

Oh, I definitely want to see Wanderlust! :) Maybe when it’s available on Amazon to rent.

Poor foot of yours! I don’t think I’d be good at camping; I bet I’d be cold the whole time, asthmatic and willing to come back home, hehe.

    Happy midweek, sweet Lisa!
