As part of a recent collaboration with Savers Thrift Stores, I participated in a challenge to put together a few looks inspired by current trends, but using thrifted pieces.
Everything I’m wearing in these outfits is second-hand, minus two pairs of shoes, and most of it was bought on one recent trip to Savers.
Blazer & Jeans: c/o Savers // Shoes: Blowfish (bought 2nd hand) // Necklace: thrifted
Compare to:
Free People floral jeans: $168
Forever 21 striped jacket: $29
bow blouse & skirt: c/o Savers // Shoes: Swedish Hasbeens // Sunnies: F21
Compare to:
Modcloth bow blouse: $34
JCrew striped skirt: $74
tropical blouse & skirt: c/o Savers // Shoes: BAIT // Scarf: thrifted
Compare to:
BB Dakota Tropical Top: $49
Topshop Orange Mini: $76
I definitely splurge on new clothes too, and love shopping at the stores with compared pieces, but to keep refreshing my wardrobe on a budget I turn to thrifting. It’s also a good way to try out more trendy styles- like these floral jeans and Hawaiian print top.
Would you wear any of these looks? Is thrifting a part of your normal clothes shopping routine?

You look so cute! I love the last outfit. As for my favorite thifted items… vintage clothing, furniture, and art.
Thrifting is almost exclusively my shopping M.O. Finding quality vintage pieces at a decent price is much more valuable to me than buying a big-box/fast-fashion outfit for the same price that falls apart after one wash.
Such a great idea! I love Savers!!! You never know what wonderful things you aer gonna find there!

I’m stealing that striped skirt from you! Even though I hardly wear skirts, I’d gladly make an exception for that gem:) Great finds!
I worked at savers for three years in highschool and college and from then on I have been a thrifter for life! I love finding new things to wear or for my home and my kids love shopping there too!
You are so cute in all these thrifted outfits.
Oh man I love this idea for a blog series. It’s amazing the things you can find while thrifting. The second outfit with the striped skirt is adorable and I love the last one with the red skirt too! It’s hard to pick a favorite thrift find for me, but one of my favorites is a sailboat print button down I found for something like 50 cents. Also an 80s does 50s light pink sweetheart neckline dress with a lace skirt. My biggest thrifting tip is to take your time and look through everything!
Yes!!! I love my local store and the feeling of finding a good thrift! Fingers crossed ;)
You are the thrifting QUEEN! I love absolutely every one of these looks. The way you play with color always gets me :).
what an awesome post Lisa! all of these looks are so stylish & it’s fun to hear how much you saved. you seriously have the best luck thrifting! Pants are usually tough for me to find so I’m esp swooning over those & that orange skirt.
I love so many of these! & I love the comparisons with more expensive options. I definitely love thrifting, but can’t say I do it enough. Posts like this are definitely really encouraging <3
Wow, your savers has really good deals! I never shop there because everything is way too expensive for a thrift store.
I adore each of these looks too! The last one with the red skirt is my favorite. That top is just so fun! What a neat challenge, makes me want to go shopping now, haha.
yes! i always felt like their prices were a little nuts for thrift stores. like dresses are $15 at the one by me! Sometimes you can find a good deal, though
aww yay, congrats to crissy for winning! and what a super fun post, i really enjoyed seeing your takes on waaaay more expensive pieces. look number two is my favorite- you are the absolute best at mixing patterns :)
