Clouds? What clouds?

cloud skirt

Well, we have officially reached summer days and triple digit weather here, so I will be reaching for this cloud print skirt to help me pretend it’s cooler. I got this skirt on an Instagram closet sale of Erin from Oh So Lovely Vintage. It was a good score because I’ve been wearing it tons, I love the cut, and it’s unique print. I’ve mostly been wearing it on weekend days but this is how I layered it up for work.

I’ve been really into this vintage style of pumps lately, which is funny because they are just like the shoes my piano teacher used to wear that I thought were so lame back then. My how we change. I’ve been slowly adding some vintage into my Etsy shop and I have a suede version of these shoes listed in there right now. I guess it was inevitable- I’ve been collecting vintage for so long and part of me has always wanted to sell it too- it was just a matter of getting around to it. I’ve started with some shoes, and will hopefully get around to the piles of clothes sometime soon.

It’s so funny that as our style evolves we start to wear things we used to hate and hate things we used to be obsessed with. I’m sure my piano teacher never thought she would love low-heeled pumps when she was a kid either! What are some things that you wear now that you from the past would’ve never had in her closet?

I’ve thought that about style too- how many things I love now I’m not sure I would (actually a few I actively campaigned against when my father insisted on getting our photos in them…)

    This is a lovely look.

I love the ‘this way that way’ stripes :) I decided not to even look at Erin’s Instagram sale. She has too much great stuff!

Those shoes are super cute and look so chic on you :) I’ve been wanting a pair like that. I went to Catholic school so I had to wear a uniform up until college. I hated having to wear skirts and blouses every day but now that’s all I want to wear every day. I even wish I had saved my plaid uniform skirt from high school haha.

I totally know what you mean! I used to hate red and nautical wear and now that’s all I put on. Lol…. these shoes are the best! I love this sweet little cloud dress and you look so sweet in it!

The print on that skirt is so unique! I always felt the same way. I love vintage and have been shopping and wearing it for a while and I found myself buying more then I could ever wear or admiring clothes not even in my size so I opened up an etsy shop with my friend selling our vintage clothes. I always love hearing similar stories or what inspires someone to open up an etsy shop in general. Thats one of the great things about style thats its always changing and evolving!

  11. Low heeled pumps are def the only kind of heels that i’d wear nowadays, my metal-infused ankle cant handle any real heels but these really are lovely on all accounts! i remember my brother and i always teasing my poor mother about having her shirt tucked in with high waisted shorts & of course i love that now (although my brother still teased me about it like a year ago haha). i love the mustard contrast w/ that fun print skirt and ah… that heat, it was nice to have an actual spring while it lasted there wasn’t it?

I wish it was officially summer here, you can have our clouds! Your skirt is gorgeous, it’s such a fun print. And it looks amazing with your spotty tights! Ten years ago, I definitely used to hate anything 90s, but I’m so into it now. I complained that my mum used to dress me in crushed velvet, but now I love crushed velvet! xx
