This is outfit is from the weekend, I wore it Saturday when we went down to Tucson to check out the swap meet and hang out with some tiki loving friends at the Kon Tiki. It was already dark when we got there, so I didn’t take any photos, but if you want to check out our last visit to the authentic tiki bar from the ’60s, you can here. As the final days of summer are ticking by, this boat dress seemed like an appropriate last hurrah- even though I never pack away summer clothes in Phoenix, they just get more layers.
Friday night I went to a drag show with my friend who’s been doing a film photography project with some local performers. I went to a few shows with him over the summer and this was by far the best one, though to be fair, the others were “amateur night”. I heard a lot of Lana Del Rey that night and could not get her out of my head the rest of the weekend, and I still find myself singing the Summertime Sadness remix with visions of a sad drag queen who was reluctantly celebrating her 43rd birthday that night- in a red dress of course ;)
I hope you’re week has been off to a good start- and heck it’s pretty much half way to next weekend already, so that’s good news! This entry was posted in outfits and tagged road trip, t-store scores, vintage. ← College Times feature What to Wear: polka dots →
