Handmade Tiki Dress

This time of year is so gorgeous I just want to be outside as much as possible. I also notice that I go into a bit of panic mode, knowing that soon it will be impossible to hang out outside unless you’re in a pool- it’s like trying to overdose on fresh air to make it through the summer.

Handmade Tiki Dress

Last weekend we went out for brunch and then wandered around downtown Phoenix for bit. I wore my new tiki print dress- handmade from vintage fabric by Natalie from Sweet and Sour Vintage (I interviewed her here). I met Natalie through Instagram- which is the greatest thing about social media, connecting with talented and creative people! Do yourself a favor and check out her shop- she’s having a super sale right now and her shop is so well curated with prettiest dresses. Time to stock up for those spring and summer parties :)

Ahhh that dress is so pretty- absolutely love the pattern. And the fin backdrops you set it up against :) And man, can i have some of that warmth, please? It literally snow/hailed today…wut. Though sounding lik you could fry an egg on the sidewalk in a few weeks time doesn’t sound all that appealing either haha.

Also, I think it’s so cool you read my dressing emotionally article! My style really did change dramatically over this past year, and I sometimes miss some of my wilder vintage, but I feel like the things I buy now are just 100% what I love, no ifs and or buts. It makes dressing up a heck of a lot easier, and I don’t feel like I’m drowning in *things* all the time. Though the negative side is that I sometimes get a little “clean out” crazy and end up tossing things I really wish I didn’t after the haze clears up, haha!

I’m really digging all your articles- so many fashion topics that are interesting & relatable. I’m really trying to clean out my closet in a major way, but I have such an addiction to colors and patterns, I know it will never be a minimal wardrobe :) And yes- summers here are BRUTAL.
