a wedding, a baby, & a haircut…

vintage watercolor dress

I wore this outfit to a wedding yesterday, and although these weren’t my original shoe choice I am glad I went with the sensible option. The wedding was next to a creek at a ranch resort built into a hill. The scenery was beautiful, and the perfect Arizona backdrop of rocky cliffs and saguaro cacti, but the terrain of walking up and down the hill was not made for heels. Luckily, we learned this the night before at the rehearsal dinner so I was able to be prepared.

Some close friends had a baby on Friday night, so Saturday morning I went to visit and managed to hold the lil’ guy without dropping him, which is a success. So yeah, there were some milestones happening around us this weekend.

Although I got my haircut the week before, this is the blog debut of my bangs, so they are noteworthy as well :) I haven’t had bangs in a few years, since before starting this blog, and I needed a change-up that wasn’t too drastic.

Today has been pretty lazy, with a little bit of catching up for the week ahead. I really hate starting the week off with an empty fridge and messy kitchen, but sometimes laying in the hammock is just more important.

What about you? How was your weekend?

I LOVE your hair! You look so cute with bangs! I also adore that dress and find that I opt for the more sensible shoe option 99% of the time. I rarely regret it!

Also, I’m totally with you on hating to start the week with a messy kitchen, but lazy time totally trumps productive time many of my weekends.

This dress is gorgeous and perfect for a wedding! I’m glad you were able to be warned about the shoe choice the night before, but I’m awful in heels so I would think any terrain sounds dangerous. Absolutely loving the bangs on you too!
