Happy Hour- Moscow Mule

moscow mule

We’ve been having fun making vintage cocktails and one of my favorites is the Moscow Mule. I especially love it in the summer because this variation we make uses cucumber, which is always refreshing! Please excuse me for not serving them in the proper copper mugs, but they are on my wish list and these vintage cocktail glasses make a good substitute! :)

To make two cocktails you need vodka, one juicy lime, two generous slices of cucumber (two more if you want to garnish!), and one 12 oz bottle of ginger beer- or a high quality ginger ale. I pour 1oz of vodka into each glass. Squeeze 1/2 of the lime into each glass and lightly muddle with the cucumber. Add ice and stir it up really well so all of these ingredients get cold and you don’t have to mix the soda too much. Add the ginger ale to fill up the glass, the glasses we use hold 1/2 bottle each which is a good ratio. Lightly stir to mix, but you don’t want to over stir carbonated drinks! Make a toast to summer & enjoy!
