My thrifted tap shoes…

Last night was a little bit of a milestone, I had my first bike wreck in 15-20 years. I was making a turn and my front tire got caught in railroad tracks and I. went. down. The worst part of it? I was wearing a vintage dress that got pretty beat up- a strap ripped off, the gathered waist seam ripped, and it’s covered in sidewalk dirt. Luckily, all the damage is on the seams so it can be fixed, but since there’s gathering involved, I’m taking it to a pro tomorrow.

I’m happy there were no major injuries, but between my bloody knee & elbow AND my dress falling apart, I looked like a serious mess riding home. Good thing it was dark out. :)

Some internet coolness this week:

As a girl smack-dab in the in-between, I appreciated Kyla’s post

If your pic isn’t showing up when you comment on some blogs (like mine!), you need a Gravatar! Sarah tells you how

I love Polly’s dress re-style and a goal for the summer is to get more confident with my alteration skills.

Jessica’s felt boxes would be cute & easy to make for gifts…

And just for fun, this is one of my all-time favorite songs and I’m watching and re-watching this video for my last project of the semester. Please tell me you love this song as much as I do!

Did you all have a good weekend? Hopefully no embarrassing bicycle accidents…

Kyla is such a good blogger, isn’t she? By good I just meant that I really love how she posts about real life things and not the usual blog ‘crap’ (not crap…but you know what I mean…the usual stuff you see on everyone’s blog, which I do love too haha) I loved her post on the blog slump everyone seems to be in.

Oh, Lisa! No! I’m so sorry you fell so hard! :( I fell off mine years ago and was almost run over by a bus; since then, I’ve been super scared to ride one. Good thing your dress can be fixed, though. And hope your wounds heal soon ;).

Aaaand OMG! I love Jarvis and Pulp! This song is one of my ultimate favorites, too. I always watch this video when I run on the treadmill. I wanted to see them SO bad at Coachella, but the tickets were freaking expensive and we couldn’t afford them. Hope they come to the US again soon :p.

    Have an awesome week! ;D

  3. I do love that song as much as you. It takes me right back to my first year at uni.

Oof, hope you and your dress are okay!

It brings back college memories for me too! I think that’s partially why I love it so much. That & that it’s just awesome :)

Ooh Lisa! So sorry about your fall! :( I fell too a couple of weeks ago.. And my sprained ankle is still bruised.

We would be quite the pair if we were hanging out, I bet. :)

Oh man! This has happened to me more times than I would like to admit. It’s the worst! I am sorry you wrecked it, but glad you didn’t get hurt!!

  6. Hi, Doll!

Thank you so much! I really appreciate that! You can be more confident with just a little more practice! :D Good luck!!! Thanks for linking my post.

    love, polly :D

Ahhhhhh! I haven’t heard this song is years! It totally reminds me of summer camp! I remember blasting it, singing it at my friends with the WORST British accent, and jumping (because jumping is TOTALLY a singature dance move).
Now I must listen to this on repeat while driving (not jumping) into work today. THANKS GIRL!
