July 4th invite

Since graduating back in May, I haven’t had much of an opportunity to just design things for fun, with my own personal style. Making invitations and working with typography is one of my favorite ways to play with design, so I had a lot of fun making the invitation to our annual July 4th pool party.

If you are ever interested in collaborating on an invitation or flyer design, send me an email at I would love to work with you!

This is so sweet. I really love the juxtaposition of real texture and flat vector work. It creates such an interesting distance between the two, like the words are floating. And of course I am mad jealous that you CAN host an annual pool party! I have to sweat it out, these days. But then, you’d get a LOT more use out of a pool in Arizona than you do in Ontario!
Now I just wish I had any sort of gathering I needed some fancy invitations for! You have just the kind of aesthetic I love. Well, I’m not likely to forget about ya before the time comes ;P

Have you ever checked out Lost Type for fonts? They are the best. Let me know if you want to know what any fonts are on this invite!
