End of an Era…

lalafauxbois

Yesterday we both had the day off for President’s Day and we took a break from working on house projects to cruise around the neighborhood and enjoy a beautiful day. I also insisted on taking some pictures in front of the now closed Blockbuster near our house. Brian and I met working at this location 12 years ago, and although I’m not a fan of corporate box stores- it holds a little sentimental value :) It’s one of the last ones to close in our area and it’s weird to think video stores have become a thing of the past.

Thanks for letting me dork out over a closed store I haven’t even been to in years… :)

I want to ride my bike in the sunshine! We just got another cold front and it is FREEZING here with more snow to come! :( You are lucky lucky lucky, lady! Also love that cute dress!

Awe, I liked this post! ;) It’s nice you could take these photos before they removed the sign. There’s one by my house that I believe is going to close down soon, too :/.

Have a wonderful week, sweet Lisa! ;D

Gosh you’re cute! That collared dress is just a darling-especially paired with a fabulous bike. :)

I love your gorgeous bike and dress – and I’m also envious of the sunshine! And even the closed Blockbuster store looks kind of cool with its orange and brown and big white painted letters. I love revisiting sentimental places.

One thing is intriguing me: what’s on the “coming soon” posters? Is it a good thing or a bad thing that’s coming?

  5. I have some serious bike envy! And while we’re at it, also weather envy. Gorgeous photos!

First of all, super cute dress and bike!
And second, my hubby and I met in high school working at a grocery store that was just bought out by a large chain. They literally just changed the sign on the building making it officially history yesterday and now im sad I didn’t get pictures! :( lol

That’s a bummer you didn’t get pics! I was worried I wouldn’t get any either and made Brian take pictures even though he didn’t want to :)

Aw, this is so sad and sweet! And I’m ridiculously in love with this dress, it’s absolutely adorable. :)

Awwwwww. This is a sweet post :)

I always have a hard time saying goodbye to places that mean something to me.

P.S. Your bike is hella rad :)

All ours on long gone by now too. So kind of sad – all because of the memories of spending Friday nights there with friends perusing over the videos (yes VHS…haha) in search of the perfect flick for the evening. That’s really sweet that you guys met there. It’s hard to believe video and music stores are a thing of the past considering they played such a big part of my high school and college life.

    Love your dress!

I know! I kind of miss those days of wandering around the store, picking a movie :) Even though it is to have the convenience of Netflix… I was working there during the change from VHS to DVD! :)
