We have a friend with a really big dog. It’s a Great Dane/ Mastiff combo, and it’s HUGE. When he takes the dog for walks, strangers inevitably make the joke that he should put a saddle on that thing.
A couple weeks ago, when Brian was on a solo thrifting trip, he found this gaudy leather bag with a “saddle” for a closure. He thought it would make a pretty good gag gift, and with a little handiwork… voila! Pet saddle. It’s obviously not big enough for the dog, and it’s obviously meant as a joke, so don’t worry… no cats or dogs were ridden by people.

Before giving it to our friend, we couldn’t resist trying it on our kitties. They were not amused but we totally were :) It was hard to get a good picture before they would fling it off, but here’s a couple we got.

Do you ever make your pets wear funny outfits for your amusement?
I want to see pictures! :)

Lisa,
My husband & I were just talking & I opened your post off to the side of my vision.. We saw the saddle & both lost it.
That was hilarious! :)
(still laughing a little)
Ahahahaha…that’s hilarious. Love it!
Hahaha aw….
Side note: gag gift?? No way!! This is AWESOME. I am such a sucker for tooled leather…so wicked.
that is the single most amazing thing i have ever, ever, seen. i want it SO bad. i would make my dog wear that when i walked him just for kicks. it’s so awesome that you found that
First off, what a great find. Go Brain!
Second off, I can’t count the amount of times I’ve dressed my pets up. My dog gets it the most though because we take him out to parades.
That saddle on your cat is ridiculous. I needed that.
OMG that is so funny! My lab mix, Sparco, LOVES wearing clothes. He gets jealous when we dress up little Uno (the chihuahua). I’ll have to dress them up soon…I’ll send you a pic!
OMG! I love this saddle! What an amazing present and I would so love to try it on our cats, hahaha!
Before I leave this comment box, I want to thank you so much for your sweet words the other day. Every word of encouragement gives me hope and strength to keep going, you know; I really appreciate your being there! ;)
Tight hugs!
