August 29, 2012Hello! I’m back and a year older! Last Sunday was my birthday and as a punishment for celebrating, I’ve been sick with a cold this week. Ah well, I keep forgetting I’m not as young as I used to be :) And colds are somehow worse when it’s 105 degrees outside…
It was also our good friend Sam’s 30th last week so we got a group together to stay at a local hotel and wigs/hats/monocles/fake cigarettes were encouraged, because celebrating is just more fun that way, right?
Fun fact: This gold dress was the first vintage dress I ever bought- back in the 90s when I was living in Eugene and trying to break out of my grunge/flannel style :) Don’t judge, it was the 90s!

Are those blue shoes Fluevogs? It looks like his kind of heel shape! And colour scheme. Dreamy, either way! Look like you guys had a good time! But with cigarette holders, sassy wigs and flashy attire, how could you not?!

Thank you! Yeah, his suit was pretty awesome and he thrifted it that day- he’s lucky with the thrifts like that :) The shoes aren’t Fluevogs- I wish! I love their stuff. They were actually from Ruche last spring.

I love doing themed birthdays – I agree, it is way more fun that way! I had a ’60s themed cocktail party for my last birthday – and it was faaabulous. Glad you had a good time!
